PT, BSc(Hon) SSP KINE, MScPT
Leah is a registered physiotherapist, and obtained her Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster University. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Kinesiology at Queen’s University, with honours. While completing her undergraduate degree, she played for the women’s varsity volleyball team and later became the team’s athletic trainer. Experiencing sport from both perspectives helped Leah understand how critical it is to prevent and properly manage injury.
Leah’s drive to help others, coupled with her passion for sports and athletics has built the foundation of her career as a physiotherapist. Her treatment plans incorporate a range of hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, taping, and acupuncture, with the goal of reducing pain and optimizing function. Leah finds that educating her patients is crucial in the rehabilitation, including understanding the nature of the injury or pain, and ways to modify your lifestyle to accelerate recovery. Leah is also trained in pelvic floor physiotherapy, concussion management, and vestibular rehabilitation.
Leah believes that her patients’ needs are equally important to her knowledge and skills as a physiotherapist. Her mission is to build a treatment plan that reflects your unique lifestyle, and maximizes your recovery to return to your favourite sport, hobby, or work — whatever your “normal” is!
If not in the clinic, you will likely see Leah playing volleyball, walking her dog Bosco, or reading a good book.
